happy (almost) New Year!

#NYE is coming soon.

Time to don a little sparkle. Spread a little glitter. And cheer in the New Year.  Here are a few images that have me inspired for the festivities...

Let's talk dreams, plans, resolutions, vision boards and more soon.  I've been contemplating a commitment to a 365-day project. Check-out abeautifulmess "lets-try-a-365-project" ... Are you up for the challenge? I know for sure I want to do something creative every day. Style something new. Take an interesting photo. Paint. Dance. See the inspiration all around me. Explore new places... I just haven't narrowed in on a definite plan yet.  Let me know what you're planning for and dreaming of and envisioning. Wishing you a fun NYE + an even more amazing 2013.

Happy (almost) New Year to you + yours!

winter white love

aah! winter white. swoon.

There's something so fresh, so refreshing about pure-as-the-driven-snow white.

I've been loving it in fashion.  I discovered this image at "for the love of pretty." ...now I'm on the look-out for all the elements to re-create the look.

{via fortheloveofpretty ...
love the white jeans, cozy sweater, chunky jewels.}
I also love white in holiday decor. I recently met the talented, down-to-earth + uber cool blogger "the nester" ... She had an inspiring post this past week about making your own Anthropologie-esque winter white wreath. See the how-to details here. And check-out the finished product (don't forget to go to her original link to pin this image)...

I also did a little decorating myself.  I always have to cut a few paper snowflakes every Christmas season.  I was originally inspired by this image...
{snowflakes in the window, PARIS  via}

I did a much more simplistic version (see how-to tips for paper snowflake-making via martha)...

{twinkle lights + snowflakes in the window}
As I styled my window of hand-made paper snowflakes, I thought of the nester's mantra, "it doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful."  Sometimes it's the imperfections, the randomness that makes our home projects pretty.  Enjoy today.  Look for the beauty in the every-day.
Follow me on instagram or twitter or pinterest ... or all of the above. :) Share your thoughts.  Happy holidays!!!

oh christmas tree

How's your December? I hope you're enjoying the simple pleasures of the season.

We were able to get our fresh tree this past weekend.  Oh how I love the smell of pine + the look of twinkly lights.  I thought I'd share a few photos with you as the decorating process continues...

...One of my favorite things about holiday decorating is pulling out the old holiday photo cards to see how much the girls have grown-up...

Despite all the craziness of the holidays, I'm wishing you many special moments.

...And be on the look-out because very soon I'm going to be offering a Holiday Give-Away!!!

Don't you just love winning stuff? I've contacted some very cool merchants + some artsy friends who are willing to offer up some festive goods (think jewelry, candles + more).  I'll be posting how you can win soon!

Stay in touch.
